Nestled away on a side street on the Upper West Side is Chef and Owner “Nicky Meatballs” Mormando's neighborhood staple Polpette. With its traditional Italian fare and award winning meatballs, this little gem has been holding down fort for twenty-two years—that's how you know it's good!

Seated at the red checkered tablecloths on green plastic folding chairs surrounded by murals of beautiful floral clad Italian vistas and under a massive grape vine, I felt like was transported into that famous pasta slurping scene from Lady And The Tramp—though, I'm not entirely sure how comfortable my lunch date would be sharing a single strand of her homemade Fettuccini Carbonara with me. That's alright, I was entirely content in my happy place with my Eggplant Parmigiana and Fritti Zucchini situated directly in front of me. Everything on the menu is exactly what you are looking for on those nights when you are craving classic red sauced Italian food, this is such an excellent version of just that. 

As an added bonus, they have some killer deals. For Meatballs Monday, all balls dishes on the menu are half off. For Wine Wednesdays, heck yeah you get that same deal, half off all bottles of wine. Hello date nights!
