Pepperoni Pizza Pinwheels
I dedicate this one to my fellow hosts out there who have a million things on their plates and want just one more. That in mind, this recipe is more about assembly than making everything from scratch. I like to think of it as a delicious time saver.
1. TO MAKE YOUR PINWHEELS. preheat your oven to 375°.
Dust your work surface and rolling pin with a light sprinkling of your flour.
Roll a piece of your dough out into a long oval on your work surface.
Spread a layer of your favorite tomato sauce onto it.
Sprinkle on a layer of your shredded mozzarella.
Lay on your pepperoni.
Sprinkle with a little more mozzarella and your basil.
Roll your pizza from one end to the other—it should look like one long Yodle.
Transfer your pizza roll to your cutting board.
Use your chef's knife to cut your pizza roll into 1 inch thick pieces.
Line your baking sheet with your silpat.
Lay your pinwheels on their side on your lined baking sheet.
Bake till golden—about 15 minutes
