Three Seat Espresso And Barber
It’s not just a cut or espresso, it’s a lifestyle. On social media, we often see lifestyle accounts, like mine! Let’s go on and use mine as an example (to see what I'm talking about, click here). I speak to the lifestyle around food. So often, you will see photos of me, me getting my hair colored, me at an awesome restaurant, me riding my bike to and from meals to make room for the next one. You will also see, lots of food, lattes and cocktails. It’s a curated look into the life that is Coffee And Champagne. In the tangible psychical world, you don’t often find this kind of catered experience. Yes, maybe you’ll get a glass of bubbly at the hair salon but that’s not quite the same thing as what the team spearheaded by Aaron Cook, formerly of Bluestone Lane, behind Three Seat Espresso & Barber have created. No. They have taken that lifestyle Instagram page and turned it into an Australian café and barber shop that is so photo friendly you’ll be wanting to show it off on your Instagram account.
I’ll be the first to admit that I passed on my first invite in. It sounded a bit too kitschy and gimmicky for me. Then, my husband grew out his once fully shaven hair and needed to find a barber. Three Seat Espresso & Barber was the only one I knew of, so, we went. I absolutely, hands down, loved it! It doesn’t feel at all kitschy or gimmicky. Instead, it’s quaint, warm, delicious and super inviting.
When you walk in, you’ll see that it’s a small space predominantly filled with the café’s bar. Behind the bar are partially tinted floor to ceiling windows that isolate the three seats in the barber section of the space. Book your barber shop appointment online (here) and go in looking like you need caffeine and come out looking pretty fly. It surely doesn’t hurt that from the bar directly to the bar(ber’s) chair, a beverage of your choosing is always included in your cut. I love the idea of sipping on their golden latte while getting my hair did. Do I go for an undercut with the words Coffee And Champagne shaven into my head? Hmmm. Perhaps I’ll leave this experience for my hubby and stay out front where the coffee and food is.
I’d go there for their golden turmeric-filled latte alone! But it’s all so fresh and flavorful, I know once I set foot inside I’m always going to want it all! From their deconstructed Avocado Toast that’s served as half of an avocado with a touch of oil puddling in it’s center where the pit once was and then sprinkled with sesame seeds with thick cut rustic toast triangles on the side to the seeded bagel with avocado, spring onions, chipotle mayo and a baked farm egg, it’s the perfect, as Aussies say, brekkie spot! Definitely a reason to spend more time in the East Village! Cheers, in advance!
