French Toast Cake
This is literally one of my very favorite dishes on the planet. I've made it so many times now, and every time say to myself, "wow, I wasn't exaggerating, it actually is as good as I remembered it being." That's right around the time I start patting myself on the back.
1. TO SOAK YOUR BREAD. preheat your oven to 375°.
In your medium mixing bowl, whisk together your eggs, milk, nutmeg, vanilla, bourbon and brown sugar.
Use your bread knife to cut the top and bottom off of your bread.
Place your bread in your large mixing bowl and pour your whisked mixture evenly over it.
Allow it to sit and marinate for 5 minutes.
Flip your soaked bread and allow it to marinate for another 5 minutes.
2. TO COOK YOUR FRENCH TOAST CAKE. over high heat, coat your nonstick pan with your butter.
Transfer your soaked bread onto the frying pan. Let cook for till vigorously sizzling around the bread’s edges—about 1 minute.
Use your spatula to flip your bread and cook for an additional till, again, it's vigorously sizzling around the bread’s edges—about 1 minute.
Transfer your cooked bread onto your baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes.
Put your now baked bread onto the dish you plan to serve it on.
3. TO TOP YOUR FRENCH TOAST CAKE. use your butter knife to spread your marscarpone evenly across the top of your bread.
Evenly sift your powdered sugar over your entire dish.
Heavily pour your maple syrup over the top of your marscarpone and powdered sugar coated bread making sure to allow the syrup to drip over the sides of your french toast cake.
Use your bread knife to cut your French Toast Pizza into eight triangular slices.
