FROSTED FLAKES CRUSTED FRENCH TOAST CUBE

FRENCH TOAST…it’s time to think inside of the box

These are so playful. I love them so much! Frosted Flakes were the perfect cereal to crust these cubes in but you can absolutely mess around and try your favorite cereal on them too. If you’re hosting friends or family these are super impressive and don’t require that much work. Definitely not a dish to be intimidated by. If I’m being real, they are fun to make too. Have fun making and then eating these!

Happy brunching!

Instructions

TO MAKE PREP YOUR BREAD
  1. Preheat your oven to 400º.
  2. Cut off the crust on both of your brioche, discard of it (or, if you’re like me, snack on it). Cut your remaining brioche into giant cubes. I was able to get 2 from each loaf.
  3. Place your wire rack inside of your baking sheet. Place your brioche cubes on it and bake them for 10 minutes. This will help to dry them out allowing them to better hold their form once absorbing the egg mixture that you will be making next.
TO MAKE YOUR FRENCH TOAST CUBES
  1. In one of your large mixing bowls, whisk together your eggs, whole milk, buttermilk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt until fully combined.
  2. Pour 7 ounces (half a box) of your Frosted Flakes into your food processor. Process until you have a crumble—about 20 seconds. Transfer this crumble into your other large mixing bowl.
  3. Dredge your brioche cubes in your egg mixture—you want each cube to absorb some of the mixture. I let them sit for about 30 seconds on each side. Holding the cube over the bowl, let any excess liquid run off back into the bowl.
  4. One at a time, put each cube into your mixing bowl filled with Frosted Flakes. Evenly coat all sides of your cube in your Frosted Flake crumble. Then place your cube on your wire rack on your baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes. Flip all of them over and then bake until golden brown—about 10 additional minutes.
  6. Serve hot with maple syrup.
  7. Eat and enjoy!
