When you map out directions and plot one of your points as “New York City”, did you know that your Google Maps is using the statue in the middle of Columbus Circle as it’s default point? It’s the center of the city. Go inside The Shops At Columbus Circle, up to the third floor and to the very center of the building and you will walk directly into Chef Michael Lomonaco’s Center Bar. With the sounds of live music being played on the baby grand and a view looking out of the building’s façade onto the city’s only roundabout, I found myself sitting back, a lady of leisure, waiting for an array of hot toddy styled cocktails to make it to my table. What a fun cocktail menu concept! It’s the perfect way to warm up in the winter, much like sipping hot cocoa after ice skating, only in this case, you will likely be carrying a bunch of shopping bags after an afternoon shopping spree.

When you find yourself in my same seat, the one closest to the piano, sipping hot toddies, order the arancini and some toasts—I particularly loved the curried chicken salad covered toast. Then, kick back, relax and indulge in the ease of the moment. For me, it was the perfect way to end not only a hectic day but a super busy week. Go on, order a second round, I did. It was wonderful.
