Never eat anything that's not quality!
I have to say “thank you” to places like Quality Meats for reframing my mindset on what a steakhouse is. No longer is it a restaurant genre targeted to old fat men with way too much money on their hands dressed in their favorite gold buttoned clad blazers with an over-priced cigar stuffed into their inner pocket. No, no. This isn’t that—though, let’s be real, that crowd would love this place too. This is a modern take on a steakhouse where you can dress trendily and even pop by for lunch, not just dinner.
Quality Meats does a beautiful job of toeing the line between pleasing this traditional crowd while also creating an environment for people like me who like to be excited by the creativity of food in a beautiful thoughtfully crafted space. They’ve designed a wood-heavy industrial-chic restaurant with a sunken low lit—even in the afternoon—dining room. It’s swanky!
Most importantly, and much like I raved about when writing about their sister restaurant Quality Eats, they have taken a different approach to their dishes from most steakhouses. Yes, Quality Meats maintains several classic dishes that you’d want going into a steakhouse—Filet Mignon, Aged Bone-In Sirloin, Aged Rib Steak—in their “QM Classics” portion of the menu, but they also reimagine traditional dishes giving them a new life. My favorite being their Corn Crème Brûlée side dish—insanely drool-worthy. Now, this is a more dramatic departure conceptually but it is so awesome it needed to be noted. Then, on their lunch menu, they have an “Open-Faced Lunch Plates” section with awesome dishes like their Truffled Chicken Salad & Apple Butter on Brioche served with seasonal greens and way addictive waffle fries. The point being, there’s something for everybody! So go with your best friends or your old-school grandpa and know that whoever your company is they are going to leave with a smile on their face and a happily filled belly.
Just do it moment. Order extra waffle fries. TRUST ME, you'll be super happy you did. They are amazing, addictive, and way worth the splurge!
