The Ivy Room
Ambiance
Step out of the bustle of NoMad and into the ivy clad oasis of The Ivy Room on the penthouse level of the Royalton Park Avenue Hotel. Dine indoor amongst the ivy lined walls at wooden tables on light green velvet backed banquettes. If you prefer to enjoy the summer sun, sit ouside on their intimate balcony at white metal tables surrounded by tall city buildings. Stay after your meal in the hotel’s lounge where there is more of a masculine vibe with plush leather seating and warm wood tones, and an eye-catching yellow baby‑grand piano that gets played regularly by different jazz musicians. The overall vibe is sleek yet relaxed and lively without pretense.
Cuisine
A great play on American Fare. The menu is comprised of elevated classic bites, which caters to multiple styles of dining. You can easily order a lot of small bites with cocktails for a light and playful meal or tuck in for a rich pasta or a juicy burger—can’t go wrong!
My Favorite Dishes
DIRTY SHRIMP COCKTAIL with marinated olives, trout roe, black radish, & vodka yuzu vinaigrette
CRISPY RICE with yellowfin tuna tartare, sriracha mayo, & avocado mousse
MINI LOBSTER ROLL with old bay aioli on a brioche bun
KHOLRABI WATERCRESS SALAD with radicchio, radish, goat cheese, balsamic vinaigrette (so simple and yet surprisingly awesome)
What To Wear
Go sexy! There is a piano vibe after all. That said, if it’s the middle of the day, anything goes. From jeans, to business chic—it’s NoMad, come as you are.
Kid Friendly
As a NYC hotel, the staff welcomes kids. There is also a pool on the same floor as the restaurant and lounge, so call ahead and make sure to plan your day right, especially if you’re bringing the kiddos along.
