I know this sounds surprising BUT please remember that back when I started Coffee And Champagne, I knew zero, zilch, nada about food. Now, I know a ton more, and yet still I haven’t experienced a ton of Lebanese cuisine—if it all tastes as good as it does at Yara, count me in.
YARA IN FOR A HEALTHY TREAT!
Located on an unassuming Midtown East side street, this bi-level restaurant takes real pride in the experience of their food to the point where the server urged me to eat my dish at a specific time to get the best flavors out of it. Taking in the new-to-super-hungry-me menu, I looked at my aunt across the table and we bravely decided that we should order the what-the-heck-is-that MULUKHIA aka Mallow (totally Googled that one. It’s a leafy veg) Stew with Chicken and then a “safety dish”, you know one we knew would be familiar to us and went with the GRILLED CHICKEN. Add on the killer BEET FALAFEL appetizer fast forward to a slew of scraped clean dishes. Love this as a healthy meal option as an alternative to that every day salad.
FYI. they also have eighteen vegan dishes for those with dietary specifications.
