CHRISTMAS TREE CRANBERRY TOAST

Christmas Tree Cranberry Toast

LEFTOVER CRANBERRY SAUCE gets a festive encore.

There’s holiday magic, and then there’s toast that looks like it came straight out of Santa’s Pinterest board. This recipe turns a few slices of bread, some cream cheese, and leftover cranberry sauce into a cute and festive breakfast. Each toast is shaped like a Christmas tree, with the top slice cut to reveal cranberry “ornaments” peeking through. It’s quick to assemble, easy to toast, fun to serve, and perfect for using up holiday extras. A dusting of powdered sugar adds a snowy finish, for a touch of sweetness and a sprinkle of holiday flare.

TO MAKE YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE CRANBERRY TOAST
  1. Use a Christmas-tree cookie cutter to cut each slice of bread into a festive tree shape.
  2. On two of the tree-shaped slices, punch out small circular holes using a round cutter or piping tip to create “ornament” windows.
  3. Toast all the tree slices until golden and crisp. Use a toaster, broiler, or lightly brown them in a buttered skillet for extra flavor.
  4. On the two solid tree slices, spread softened cream cheese all the way to the edges.
  5. Add small spoonfuls of cranberry sauce across the cream cheese, aiming for even coverage so it peeks through the ornament holes later.
  6. Gently place the cut-out tree slices on top of the cranberry-covered ones. Press slightly to help the cranberry sauce shine through like little red ornaments.
  7. Finish with a light dusting of powdered sugar to give your tree that snowy, winter-wonderland vibe.
