Instructions

TO MAKE YOUR TURTLE BARK
  1. Line your baking sheet with your wax paper.
  2. Pour your chocolate chips into your microwave safe glass bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes making sure to open your microwave and stir your chocolate with a rubber spatula every 30 seconds. You’ll know when you are finished when most of your chocolate is melted sans a few chips. Don’t continue to microwave at this point or you will burn your chocolate. Instead, stir your chocolate and the extra lumps will melt away. Add your coconut oil and stir it in until it’s fully integrated.
  3. Break 5 of your caramels into chunks and spread them at random on your lined baking sheet.
  4. Spread your chocolate evenly over the baking sheet.
  5. In your small mixing bowl, combine your pecans, Turbino sugar, and your cinnamon. Mix until it’s evenly incorporated.
  6. While your chocolate is still wet, liberally sprinkle your pecan mixture onto it—like glitter on glue. Use the palm of your hand to pat it on gently.
  7. In 15-second intervals, melt your remaining caramel in a small microwave-safe bowl. Using a spoon or knife, drizzle it in lines across the top of your chocolate.
  8. Refrigerate until they are fully hardened—about 35 minutes.
  9. That’s it! You crushed it! Enjoy!
