MY MOTHER’S DAY MENU

My curated collection of recipes I’d love on Mother’s Day.

As a mother, and well, a human in general, I love dishes and bites that find the perfect balance of sweet, savory & texturally exciting. As a mom, I decided to take the guess work out of it and give my family (and yours) a quick cheatsheet of my favorite recipes for an extra special Mother’s Day.

CAUTION: If you’re thinking breakfast in bed…

Please don’t. Don’t make a full breakfast that requires Cat in The Hat levels of balance to keep from ruining the bedding. The idea is sweet. The approach is everything. Think a beautiful homemade pastry or snack and coffee the way she likes. Now, you’ve struck thoughtfulness gold (and sidestepped having to do a load of laundry on Mother’s Day).

BREAKFAST IN BED SAFE RECOMMENDATIONS.

Easy family breakfast for the core fam.

No in-laws, no grandparents. Just the family that mom supports on a daily basis spoiling her with love. Make these recipes with your kids so they can be extra proud that they helped make mommy breakfast. They’re easy, thoughtful, and super delicious.

Just to cover my bases, and I sure hope that I’m stating the obvious here, but … FOR EFF’S SAKE, clean the dishes! Wash the pots and pans before breakfast and clean up the rest after. Mama doesn’t need the gift of seeing a messy kitchen wondering if she’s going to have to clean it, nor does she want the experience of washing dishes after a beautiful meal, she gets to treasure that moment every other day of the year.

FAMILY BREAKFAST RECOMMENDATIONS.

Mama.

Knows.

Best.

Don’t Cook? You can assemble. Hello toast!

Spoiling the mom in your life doesn’t mean you need to become a culinary wizard. It just means you need to play your cards right. So pick a toast. Use the ingredients as your grocery list and mash, spread, and pile. This is, after all, about spoiling her. You putting in the effort in a place that makes you uncomfortable will be a gift of its own.

CAN’T COOK? TOAST! RECOMMENDATIONS.

Level it up to brunch!

With the mom in your life’s permission, invite the extended family. Celebrate all of the mom’s together! If you’re cohosting with your wife, the mother of your kids, who was gracious enough to share her day, please take on the brunt of the work. It’s still her day, only have her do the parts she explicitly offers or asks to do.

EXTENDED FAMILY BRUNCH RECOMMENDATIONS.

Elevate brunch to a spread.

These smaller bites and spreads transform a simple brunch to a beautiful spread. So, sweat the small stuff, in this case, it makes all the difference!

SMALL BRUNCH ADD ON RECOMMENDATIONS.

Sweets for your sweet mama.

You don’t have to make a whole meal. You can make a sweet little treat! These are my favorites for the day. They really capture the moment beautifully!

You can also add any of these to your beautiful brunch spread to really flex. If you do, you’ll never live this Mother’s Day brunch down (in a good way)!

TREATS FOR THE OCCASION RECOMMENDATIONS.
